Schroders Capital’s Real Estate team is expanding its investor coverage in Europe with the appointment of Stephen Miles as Head of Strategic Capital Partnerships for Europe. In this newly-created role, Stephen will have responsibility for developing Schroders Capital’s strategic relationships with existing and new real estate clients across Europe.
Stephen will advise clients on potential investment solutions covering the full suite of global real estate capabilities and products that Schroders Capital’s real estate platform offers.
Stephen, who will be based in London, has spent the last nine years at CBRE where he was most recently an Executive Director in the EMEA Capital Markets team, focused on helping grow its market-leading capital markets business with some of its largest clients.
Prior to CBRE, he held a similar role at JLL, having joined the firm in Paris before moving to London and working in its equity raising team.
Robin Hubbard, Head of Capital Formation, Schroders Capital, commented:
“Stephen will be a great addition to our capital formation team, bringing over 20 years of European capital markets, equity raising, fund structuring and recapitalisation experience across multiple geographies and different sectors. In particular, Stephen’s recent focus on and knowledge of operational strategies, which is one of our key areas of strong expertise at Schroders Capital, will further strengthen our ability to advise our clients on suitable investment strategies in the current market circumstances.”
Stephen Miles, Head of Strategic Capital Partnerships, Europe, Schroders Capital, commented:
“I am very pleased to be joining Schroders Capital at such an interesting time in the evolution of the real estate market. In this post-pandemic environment, Schroders Capital’s hospitality-focused approach to operational real estate is very important to capital providers. Furthermore, the deep bench of real estate expertise assembled at Schroders Capital is well-placed to deliver attractive investment opportunities and sustainable solutions for clients as the world transitions to net zero.”
Stephen’s appointment is the latest in a series of growth-focused appointments within the global real estate capital formation team. In Germany, Felix Meythaler joined from Warburg-HIH Invest as Real Estate Specialist Sales Director, based in Frankfurt, while Altaira Gao has relocated from London to Hong Kong to take up the position of Associate Director Real Estate Specialist Sales for Asia.
