The RO Group has announced that Irwin Mitchell Solicitors has recommitted to another decade in Southampton, having signed a 10 year lease at the Group’s One Dorset Street property. This follows the substantial refurbishment of the property, which has included the installation of a business lounge and a new air conditioning system.
Irwin Mitchell’s prolonged commitment to Southampton is an endorsement for both the city’s commercial property sector as well the city’s economy more generally, which is rebounding after successive lockdowns and work from home directives. As well as legal services, Irwin Mitchell also provides wealth management services, and we are proud to house this firm as an important player in the regional economic ecosystem.
David Kershaw, Group Real Estate Director, the RO commented:
“A full service law firm with 15 locations in the UK, Irwin Mitchell is a stalwart of the Southampton business community and we are delighted to welcome them to One Dorset Street. The Group’s ability to attract a firm of such prestige is a testament to the quality of office space which we have created in Southampton.”
One Dorset Street is an architecturally striking stand-alone office space in one of the most prominent parts of Southampton’s main business district. It has been fully refurbished to a very high standard to meet the requirements of the modern office occupier. The office space has a barriered car park and secure, enclosed cycle storage and separate shower and changing facilities.
One Dorset Street was the first Fitwel certified building in Hampshire. The Fitwel scheme is the world’s leading certification system that optimises buildings to support health and wellbeing. Everything in the office space has been designed to create an inviting environment that improves occupant health and productivity. Employee wellness is an increasingly high priority for all modern businesses and this office certification not only puts employees’ health and wellbeing at the heart of the workplace, but also provides employers with formal recognition of these benefits.
The RO was advised by Osborne Clarke and Irwin Mitchell was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle.
