National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has acted on the sale of three South Wales nursing homes on behalf of registered social landlord The Abbeyfield Wales Society.
Reene Court Nursing Home and Stow Park Nursing Home in Newport and Eleanor Hodson House in Caerleon were each sold individually to different providers rather than as a group, due to the ranging complexity of care that they offered.
Each home received multiple bids over the asking price showcasing the buoyant care business market in South Wales.
Clarke Willmott corporate partner Kirill Bingham, who led on the deals, said: “We have been delighted to support Gary and the Abbeyfield Wales team through this process to achieve the successful sales.
“Abbeyfield Wales were a new client to the firm in 2020 and it was a pleasure to work on such an important deal for them.”
Gary Hortop, CEO of The Abbeyfield Wales Society, said: “Abbeyfield Wales worked with the team at Clarke Willmott on the disposal over a 12-month period.
“Throughout these transactions Kirill Bingham, Vicky Kells and the team were supportive, professional and offered clear advice and communication on the management of the sales process.
“In my view, they are an excellent legal team and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. They offer a great service all round.”
Vicky Kells, joint head of the Social Housing sector and head of the Cardiff office at Clarke Willmott, said: “These transactions demonstrate the benefits of our sector-based approach – we were able to call upon specialists in our corporate team to support the work of our national social housing sector team and deliver a positive outcome for the client.”
