Melanie Leech, Chief Executive, British Property Federation comments:
“I am delighted to welcome Mark to the BPF’s Presidential team, and I look forward to working with him, alongside David and Guy, to lead the UK property industry as we look ahead to recovery and a more positive future for our town and city centres.
“Mark’s industry experience and current role at Landsec make him well placed to help drive our mission to improve understanding among our key stakeholders of the property industry’s role in supporting our customers and communities, mitigating climate risk and enabling economic growth – and how national and local government, our industry and its customers can work better together as partners to maximise this positive impact across the UK.”
Mark Allan, Chief Executive, Landsec adds:
“The property industry has a key role to play in creating a more productive and sustainable economy. By redefining the role of the landlord and by shaping a better future through environmental and social sustainability leadership we can drive better outcomes for the communities we are engaged with, for the stakeholders we are accountable to and for society at large. These are exciting times for us all, the pandemic has provided us with an opportunity to reset and ensure our industry has a defined, proactive and positive role to play in the success of the UK. It is the BPF’s role to galvanise us, to challenge us and to be the voice of our industry. I’m excited to get started.”
David Partridge, Senior Partner of Argent LLP and Chairman of Argent Related adds:
“The BPF plays a vital role in representing the UK property industry and I look forward to working with Mark to ensure the Government hears our voice and better recognises our industry as a critical partner and major contributor to achieving the nation’s social, environmental and economic goals.”
