A Stratford-upon-Avon tax expert has become a leading authority on family business advice.
Eamonn Daly, of the private client department at Lodders Solicitors, who was the first ever non-solicitor to become a partner in the firm, has gained the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising.
And he not only passed … but he passed with Distinction.
STEP is the leading worldwide professional body for practitioners in the fields of trusts, estates and related issues. Members help families plan their long term financial future, particularly in regard to wealth structuring and succession planning.
The aim of the Advanced Certificate is to give a greater understanding and enable better practical advice on developing, managing and preserving family enterprises.
Mr Daly said: “I am very pleased to obtain this important qualification.
“Advising family businesses is a distinct, and often neglected, area. Advisers tend to offer recommendations from within the bounds of their own specialisms rather than considering the wider picture and more diverse elements of an enterprise comprising both family and business aspects.
“Lodders’ independently top ranked private client team and business group already act for many individuals and family businesses and are keenly aware of the particular issues that arise.”
Mr Daly, a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation previously worked at Natwest Private Banking for ten years, managing their Birmingham dedicated trust team.
