Tritax Symmetry, the dedicated logistics development company for Tritax Big Box REIT plc, has released new accommodation options with fast-track delivery at its £70 million Symmetry Park, Doncaster development on the A1(M).
With detailed planning consent secured and full site infrastructure works in place, Tritax Symmetry is able to deliver unit sizes of up to 140,000 sq ft in 24 weeks or 430,000 sq ft in just 36 weeks.
The announcement responds to the rapidly growing on-demand logistics market and unprecedented changes in digitalisation and consumer delivery expectations.
According to ONS data COVID-19 saw 5-years growth in E-Commerce between March and May 2020 and currently, Internet sales as a percentage account for over 30% of all retail sales in the UK.
Furthermore, a recently published report by the British Property Federation (BPF), ‘Delivering Goods in 2020’ concluded that logistics is one of the sectors driving change in the economy and is forecast to increase by 43% over the next 20 years reaching £114 billion by 2039.
Tritax Symmetry recently agreed a major deal on its speculative 151,388 sq ft logistics building on the site to Dogmates Ltd trading as Butternut Box. The fast growing brand intends to make a significant investment into the fit out and employ up to 500 people when fully operational. Roadside retail property business Euro-Garages has also expanded its options with the purchase of a 1.2-acre plot standing alongside its existing Starbucks and KFC outlets.
Located at Junction 34 of the A1 (M) on the North Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire border, Symmetry Park is a £70million industrial and distribution scheme being delivered by Tritax Symmetry. The award-winning logistics developer has committed to deliver up to 721,000 sq ft of logistics space on the regionally significant site.
Freddie Oakey, Associate Development Director at Tritax Symmetry said, “The completion of full site infrastructure works at Symmetry Park enables us to quickly react to market requirements and deliver manufacturing/distribution space up to 550,000 sq. ft and cater for the ever increasing demand. Symmetry Park is one of the few sites in the region that can deliver high quality accommodation so quickly.”
Our deals with the fast-growing Butternut Box brand and Euro Garages which has already enjoyed exceptional trading since opening Starbucks and KFC at Symmetry Park are a testament to the high visibility and accessibility of Symmetry Park directly opposite Blyth Services.”
The Leeds offices of Savills, Dove Haigh Phillips and Colliers International are representing the development.
