Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates, acting on behalf of Crest Nicholson, has submitted a planning application to redevelop a brownfield site in Bromley town centre.
The application, which was formally ‘validated’ on 26 October by the London Borough of Bromley, is for 148 apartments of which 40 will be affordable homes to be sold as ‘shared ownership’ properties. The development also incorporates a commercial unit at street level intended for use as a restaurant and parking for 76 cars. The scheme embraces city sustainability standards through ‘green roofs’, photovoltaic panels and a sustainable urban drainage system.
Lorna Henderson, an associate director in Turley Associates’ London office, said: “The site has been vacant since 2004, with Crest having implemented an earlier permission given in 2008 for 160 apartments. This revised application takes on board comments from local residents and businesses and seeks to align the scheme with the recently published Area Action Plan.”
