St. Modwen has attracted one of the UK’s fastest-growing car dealership franchises, Stoneacre Motor Group, to its 27-acre industrial and logistics development in Doncaster.
The dealership group has signed a 15-year lease for 65,100 sq ft of refurbished space at St. Modwen Park Doncaster, previously known as Parkside Business Park, which is already home to a mixture of engineering, automotive and logistics occupiers including Bosch and DB Schenker.
Stoneacre’s new Parts and Logistic Hub is part of the planned “one stop shop” philosophy to support the 23 Motor Manufacturers involved in giving new standards of service to Motor Trade Customers across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
Stoneacre’s arrival at St. Modwen Park Doncaster follows that of European haulage firm McGregor Logistics Ltd, which took a 40,000 sq ft refurbished warehouse at the site late last year, and Fitrite which took a 21,272 sq ft newly developed unit.
Located on a major arterial route between Doncaster, the M18 and the A1 – and just eight miles from Doncaster Sheffield Airport – the 500,000 sq ft site is a mix of newly developed business units and refurbished space and has proven popular with businesses looking for a base in South Yorkshire.
The third and final phase of development at the site, which reached completion in February 2020, saw the delivery of more than 108,000 sq ft of space across three new units, bringing the total amount of new space at the scheme to almost 250,000 sq ft.
Jonathan Green, Asset Management Director at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said: “It’s fantastic to be welcoming Stoneacre to the line-up of incredible businesses that have based themselves at St. Modwen Park Doncaster. While it has a national presence, Stoneacre has a loyal and established customer base in Doncaster and we’re pleased it has chosen St. Modwen Park Doncaster to further support its business operations.”
Gerry George, Aftersales Director at Stoneacre Motor Group, added: “It was important for us to find a new home that could cater for our business needs while offering a high-quality and well-located warehousing and logistics space. St. Modwen Park Doncaster has done exactly this, and we are looking forward to being located here.”
Rebecca Schofield, Partner at Knight Frank, commented: “St. Modwen Park Doncaster is an attractive location for occupiers, being located just off Wheatley Hall Rd, the main arterial route through the town making it a perfect location for warehousing and industrial use.”
One new unit, scaling at 53,000 sq ft, remains at the scheme and is being marketed by CBRE and CPP.
