A successful Scottish business is expanding south of the border and creating new jobs with the launch of a new depot in Bedfordshire.
Everwarm Group – a leading provider of energy saving products – has agreed a five-year lease on Unit 8 of St Martin’s Business Centre in Bedford, which means the popular estate is now completely full.
The 10,302 sq ft premises is the first office in England for the ambitious Edinburgh-based company, as it looks to expand its client base right across the UK.
The company, which provides heating, insulation and renewable energy services, currently employs 320 staff. There will be a team of 30 at the new office and there are plans to create more jobs in the area.
St Martins Business Centre, which was marketed jointly by agents Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Kirkby & Diamond, comprises 17 high-tech industrial and warehouse units and two office buildings. It forms part of the Cambridge Road Industrial Estate, an established commercial area on the southern edge of Bedford. This latest letting means the business centre is now fully occupied.
Dan Jackson, Senior Surveyor (Industrial) at LSH, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Everwarm Group to Bedford, as the company brings inward investment to the area and creates more jobs. They are one of many new occupiers favouring Bedford as a business location following the completion of the A421 dual carriageway improvement works.”
Simon Collings, operational manager (South) at Everwarm Group, said: “We chose Bedford and, in particular, St Martins Business Centre for its central location, which will help us target a very sizeable region. We will initially be covering an 80-mile radius of Bedford, but we plan to open more locations across the UK in the future.”
Mayor Dave Hodgson, Leader of Bedford Borough Council, said: “Everwarm Group opening a new facility in Bedford is really positive news; it’s great to have another company within the green sector operating in the borough.
“The company’s move to the area highlights our excellent road infrastructure and strategic location, which will help its expansion into the southern region. I am delighted to welcome Everwarm Group to Bedford and the local business community.”
Everwarm Group will join other occupiers including ASDA, The Movianto Group, Lantmannen Unibake UK and Crowthorne Fencing Systems Limited at the business centre.
The estate is managed by CIAM (Centurion Industrial Asset Management), the specialist asset management company owned by Paul Reid and Julian Rooth.
LSH is a national commercial property consultancy that works with investors, developers and occupiers across the public and private sectors, and it is single-mindedly focused on UK and Irish property markets.
