Work is progressing well at Symmetry Park, Bicester where Tritax Symmetry is developing a new 60,000 sq ft parcel distribution facility for DPD. The specialist distribution hub is being constructed to net zero carbon in construction as regulated by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC).
Main contractor, A&H Construction is currently erecting the steel frame of the building which will be DPD’s 36th new format hub.
Symmetry Park, Bicester extends to a total of 53 acres and has the capacity to deliver up to 755,000 sq ft of logistics floor space. In addition to DPD, current occupiers at the scheme include Bentley Designs Ltd and Medline Services Ltd.
Speaking about the progress on site Tom Leeming, Development Director at Tritax Symmetry commented: “We are very pleased to report that the construction programme remains on target for completion next Spring. Given the current climate, DPD’s service is hugely in demand and we look forward to handing the building over to the DPD next year so that they can continue to serve their ever-expanding customer base.”
“In terms of the wider Park, we have strong interest in our speculatively developed 163,664 sq ft unit and the final fully serviced plot is available with the benefit of detailed planning consent for a unit of 334,000 sq ft.”
The project team includes: DTRE, Savills, Feasibility, Hydrock CPW and PHP Architects.
