National logistics developer, Tritax Symmetry has brought forward the second phase of development at its award-winning Symmetry Park Darlington. The 90-acre site, located on the A66 and just a few miles from the M1, is already home to the North’s first 1.5 million sq ft robotic sort facility for Amazon.
With full planning consent and infrastructure already in place, phase two provides options for up to 577,500 sq ft for further logistics space on a design and build basis, or potential for new mixed-use accommodation such as a hotel, petrol filling station, drive thru, restaurants and offices.
Simon Dixon, Development Director at Tritax Symmetry said: “We are pleased to release new opportunities in phase two at Symmetry Park Darlington. The Park has an exceptionally strong proposition to those seeking a base in the North East with a strong labour pool within 30 minutes’ drive and average wages significantly lower than the national average.
Having already pre-let a significant proportion of the site to Amazon for its state-of-the-art facility, the second phase is ready for immediate pre-let delivery, with funding, power and full site infrastructure all in place.”
“The strategic location, adjacent to the A66, close to the A1(M) and just 15 miles from Teesport lends the scheme well to further logistics use as well as roadside/leisure amenities. We can offer bespoke design and build options from 50,000 sq ft to 577,500 sq ft with delivery within just nine months.”
With the potential to create around 3,500 new jobs and contribute £180 million to the regional economy when fully completed, Symmetry Park Darlington is a significant new asset for regional and national investment.
Colliers International is jointly advising Tritax Symmetry with Gent Visick and Carter Jonas.
