A Welsh-based sealants specialist has bucked industry trends and doubled its turnover in the past three years despite being part of one of the worst hit sectors of the recession.
S&D Sealants, who specialise in the supply and fit of sealants and mastics to the construction trade across England, Scotland and Wales, has also succeeded in opening new offices across the UK.
In the last year, the Chepstow-based business has worked on a number of high profile projects including the Westfield Shopping Centre, the Olympic Village, the Shard office block in central London, the Bodleian Library, Oxford and Islington Arts Centre. Locally, the company has been involved in St David’s Hospice and Newport and Pontypool Schools, among others.
Nick Jones, Managing Director of S&D Sealants, said: “The key to our success has been the long standing relationships that we have developed over the years with both local and national customers. The service we provide is second to none and we work to the highest of standards. Our dedication to quality has been a real cornerstone of our continued growth.
“We are hoping for more of the same in 2013 and are now aiming to increase our turnover further to £4million.”
With a network of offices across the UK, S&D employs 75 staff and offers true national coverage by using a group of local sealant operatives to carry out specific projects. Their UK office expansion includes bases in Exeter, Wakefield, Fareham, Warrington, Bristol and Romford.
S&D regularly works with a wide variety of well-known construction companies including BAM, Balfour Beatty, Wilmott Dixon, Laing O’Rourke, Sir Robert McAlpine and MorganSindall.
